Chapter Four: Betrayal

“Walker where have you been?” Isabella was concerned. Walker held his hands on her shoulders.
“Diver is in grave danger; I need to get to city hall ASAP.”
“What? Walker, how do you know this, you’re scaring me.” Isabella eyes widened.
“It doesn’t matter; we have to warn Diver before it’s too late.”
“Walker, you’re overreacting, how do you even know your source of information is truthful.”
“Because it has saved me twice before,” Walker mumbled under his breath. He then grabbed Isabella’s keys from the table.
“Just where do you think you’re going with those?” Isabella demanded.
Walker ignored her while he slammed the door behind him.
“Ignorant, Stupid, Self-righteous prick,” cursing as she stumbled to get her shoes on.
Walker jumped the stairs as he paraded quickly to Isabella’s car.
Isabella came quickly as well, “If you wanted a ride, just say so!”
Walker chuckled, “Not a moment ago, you explained to me how foolish I was.”
“Perhaps, but I’m not going to let you go alone, we are siblings after all right?” Isabella stated with a smile.
Walker’s face loosened, and threw the keys to her.
Isabella performed a lateral back. “I hope you still remember your street racing youth.”
Walker missed those days. He jumped onto the wheel almost instantly.

Horns blared as the small vortex 360 weaved in and out of traffic at near death-defying speeds. Red lights, pedestrians, nothing would stop Walker. The Arcadian Traffic Police showed up for a while, but saw that Walker was having so much fun; they didn’t want to ruin it.
Walker pulled over at city hall and they jumped out simultaneously in a flash. City hall stood almost fifty-two stories tall. It was the landmark of the Arcadia as it was made out of pure steel. The framework, floors, everything was made out of a painted white, steel. All, except for one corridor, and Walker knew where it was. He had been in the hall of justice before when he was a young cadet in the military. As part of their training they had to be interrogated by the council, this would prepare them for the stress in heated negotiations where words could mean life and death. Walker remembered does days, and he knew he was going to miss them.
“We’ll need to get pass security, they won’t just let us waltz in without authorization,” Walker explained. Isabella nodded back in confirmation. They were standing on the sidewalk in front of the main entrance.
“And how do you propose we do that?” Isabella questioned.
“Just follow my lead,” replied Walker.
The main hall was quite elegant. On both sides of the entrance were the Arcadian banners, standing tall and proud. On the ceiling was a painting of the heavens, the new life, and on the floor was painted hell, the anti-paradise. Beside the banners, were demons and angels doing battle, neither side seemed to be winning. Walker walked over to the reception.
The old lady glared at the siblings. “Yes? What can I do for you?”
“I have a meeting with General Isanbak, is he still in his office?”
“He’s not in right now, perhaps you would—“
“Wait in his office? I’m a close friend of his,” Walker persuaded, or so he tried at least.
“What about your little friend here?” She had emphasized the word ‘little’ with a rugged tone.
“Little?” Isabella commented standing tall at five foot seven.
“She’s my sister, she’s err,” Walker needed to think fast, “she’s Isanbak’s mistress.”
Isabella pinched Walker secretly.
“Oh, my apologies, it must be awkward for you then,”
“Yes, quite,” Walker smiled with pain in his eyes, almost tearing.
“The office is on the 22nd floor, a guard will accompany you until you reach his office.”
“Thank you, Miss,” Walker walked on the lift area, and kept silent till they reached a blind spot.
“Mistress?”
Walker turned to smile back, Isabella’s face burning with a passionate hate. “Perhaps his least favorite.”
Isabella gave a loud sigh and turned to look away from her idiotic brother. “You, are, so, dead, after, this, is, over…”
