The guns lit up the midnight sky as the heavy reign of fire laid down upon the undead brethren. One by one the undead fell amongst the pile of bodies. The ground was covered in blood not five minutes into the fight.
“Sir, how much longer?”
“Sir, half of our ammunition is depleted, if alpha doesn’t arrive soon, they won’t find anyone alive here”
“Man down! Clear the way!”
“Medic!”
The scene was in chaos, but Walker knew what had to be done to survive. He was in a calm manner and handled things orderly.
“Alpha, where’s that UAV? Where’s my air support?”
“We’re making contact within ten minutes; think you can hold on till then?”
Walker had a distressed look on his face.
“We will, Walker out”
“I know you will Sir, out”

Rifles and bullets lined the bodies of the marines. Walker lied on the ground, waiting for death to finally consume him. A large abomination stood above him, wielding a cleave dipped with the blood of his prey. He gave a slight snicker, and lifted up his weapon, ready to finish off his hunt. A blinding flash, then darkness.

Chapter Two: Eye to eye

Walker awoke, he was still partially blind from the coma, but he eventually made out several faces in front of him.
“Good morning Walker,”
“General, what are you doing here?”
Walker attempted to stand up but felt a pain in his back that assured him to rest.
“Ha-ha, Walker, it’s a miracle you’re not in a coma, let alone alive,”
“Walker, you somehow managed to survive several deep cuts and severe bleedings, the doctors are astounded you’re even breathing, you should be in the memorial cemetery by now,” O’Dell was trying to be funny as always.
Walker didn’t know what to think.
“I, couldn’t remember anything that happened,”
“It must have been the chlorophyll the medics injected you with, perhaps you’ll remember some of it later, and the chlorophyll shouldn’t be in effect too long. We’ll leave to you to rest for a day or two.”
General Isanbak made his way to the door, O’Dell followed along soon after. Walker was left to rest in silence.

“General,”
“Private,”
“Where to now sir?”
Isanbak turned to look at the city horizon as he left the hospital wing. He had a worried look in his eyes as he gazed upon the sunset between the skyscrapers.
“City hall, I need a word with the council,”
“Very well,”
The APC roared to life as its hover engines ignited.

Walker looked around the hospital ward, but all he could see was the curtain dividing him between the other patients. The walls, the floor, even the tables were all painted white. There was the not a single sight of dirt anywhere. Walker slowly waltzed into a deep sleep.
“Walker...”
Walker jumped out of his rest. He looked around, but there was no one in sight.
“Must be my imagination…”
He then slowly crept back to his sleep.
“Walker…”
Walker arose from his sleep yet again, unable to find the source of the voice. It had the seemed that the voice was coming from right in front of him. Walker could not figure out was going on. He chose to ignore this and knew he was imagining things.
“Walker…”
His eyes were not shut this time, Walker knew something was wrong.
“Who are you? Where are you?!”
“Walker…”
The voice was now getting further.
Walker stood up to pursue the voice.
“Hey! Stop!”
Walker followed the voice, pursuing it with every ounce of energy left in him. Eventually the voice evaded Walker no more. He was found himself in large empty room. Walker could see nothing as the room was completely black, almost as light did not exist in this place. He then felt a sharp pain in his chest and fell to his knees, and without warning, the floor before him broke apart as Walker began his fall into darkness.

“Doctor! We need a doctor!”
A Nurse had found Walker laying on the floor beside his bed. He hadn’t been moving since. A doctor was quickly at the scene.
“Does he have any bruises or cuts?” The doctor asked
“Doesn’t seem to be,”
“Any seizures or radical movements,”
“No not at all, in fact he hasn’t been moving since I found him,”
“He’s barely breathing; we need to get him hooked on to life support,”
“Right away,”
The ward was swarming with medical personnel, all franticly trying to save Walker’s life.
“Breathing is normal,”
“Heart beat normal,”
Walker’s eyes finally opened, the doctor looking directly at him.
“Are you okay?” The doctor was sweating by now.
Walker had a disturbed look on his face; he hadn’t needed an explanation for what had just happened, for he was never passed out.
