Fantasy of Darkness
A “short” story
By Tim Tang
Chapter One: Contact
The street was laden with a scent of death. Bodies piled high to make the mountains look like humps. An inferno blooming in the midst of the town, or what was left of it. Most of the villagers were massacred in the attack, and only a few managed to escape, barely. The marines looked at each other with fear, and had little to look forward to during the night.
“Sarge?”
“Not now private, let us make sure we’re alone first,”
The 41st special operations and rescue battalion had only arrived a few hours after the attack. The undead had moved due east towards the town of Calron, their next target.
“Ok listen up, we’ve got to secure the perimeter first, and build up a small defensive position. We can’t risk being overrun from any of the lingering undead.”
Sergeant Walker had been in service for nearly twenty years now. He was a just man and knew what had to be done to get things rolling.
“What are you waiting for? Get to it!”
“Right sir!”
The battalion had much discipline and questioned nothing Walker had to say.
“Parker, have you made contact with Alpha yet?”
“Not yet sir, still trying to get this damn machine working. It will probably be another hour or so until the radio starts getting static.”
Walker let out a huge groan and continued along his checklist.
The smell of blood enlightened the senses of a half breed. Katana, half-way through the corpse of the abomination. The half-human, half-Immortal warrior marched through the streets of the death-filled city. He had great skill in his blade and bow; he could cut down numerous opponents within seconds and disappear with the shadows.
He was quick to draw his blade when he sensed a presence.
“When will they ever learn?” he pondered.
The demon spawns were quickly sent back to their cages in hell by the swift movement of a sharpened metal.

I could use a new set of headphones...
More guitars?
Maybe a grand piano...
and the will power to write my books
If only life was a fantasy story...
A weekend away with my extended family perhaps? (You know who you are) (^_^)
