
Kimao turned to face the crying child; he did not say a word. His face showed some sense of disappointment as he turned back to scan the surroundings.
“Come, we best not wait too long,” Kimao followed after Wolf.
Isabella’s tears were kept hidden as she grieved for the situation she and her brother had been thrown into. “I am so sorry, Brother.” She held him close to her chest, he was barely awake.
Walker slowly turned a smile out, not a happy kind of smile, but the kind of smile you give when you know everything’s all right. He had the strength now to fold his arms around his beloved sister.
A loud explosion then occurred close to the two, not more then thirty feet away. Walker and Isabella were thrown off their balance and landed on their backs, shocked by what had just happened. Walker had a mind set on what he had to do now. He jumped to his feet in a split, and carried Isabella up as well. “C’mon, lets go,” Walker helped her with most of the running, Isabella could barely keep up, even with her arms around her brother’s back.
The bombers flew overhead as they unloaded their payload on their designated targets. Arcadian fighters countered the invading fleet, but were nearly powerless to subdue any of the invaders. Walker could hardly believe what was occurring in the moment; had the great empire he was once been proud to fight for fall so easily?
