Walker could see the burning ruins left behind by the invaders. There were tanks, hundreds of them, and soldiers in their thousands. They piled into the city and plundered what they could. The frigates hovered overhead, shrouding the ground beneath them in a blanket of darkness. Isabella watched along side Walker, as their beloved empire fell to the invaders.
“C’mon, Wolf isn’t the most patient of us,” Walker held Isabella around her shoulders as the background was painted with destruction and chaos.
“Damn it soldier move it!” the sergeant did not have much compassion for slowness of his company. He grabbed the marine by the back of his uniform, and hoisted him over to cover. The men cowered in fear as the tanks approached. The sergeant got out his backup radio, it was fairly well dented, but the speaker and receivers still produced some static. “I need AT support, over!” his voice was surprisingly stable, as it didn’t tremble like the others.
“I need a medic quick!” the fellow marine provided cover fire for one of his wounded company. His rifle soon went dry, and was unable to hold out no longer. His body fell amongst the dead as his eyes lay open, staring into darkness.
“Damn it! We can’t hold out much longer, all units retre—,” his body too fell amongst the others. Blood crept from his helmet, as the quiet lay wasted, and the sound of a thousand armies marched upon their silence.
