“We should move now,” Wolf did not turn to look at the others, his mind fixed on other things. Walker was still breathing heavily.
Isabella crept to Walker’s side, “Brother?”
Walker did not reply, not even a glance.
She held a concerned look upon her face, almost as she was about to go into tears. “Walker, say something.” Her fine, long hair danced in the wind. Her eyes were of a captivating ocean and her skin the color of sand. The good looks of the siblings had always run in the family, but Walker was someone else at this point in time. His skin was dull, and his face lacked the bright tone it once had. It looked as though he hadn’t slept in ages, and was nearly upon his demise. He showed little expression and his eyes were nearly blank.
“We can’t stay here any longer, we have to move now,” Wolf remained calm for the moment.
“But Walker…” Her voice trailed off.
“I would rather leave him here to save the rest of us,” Wolf continued to walk slowly down the side of the hill.
“But-“
“I said we have to move!” he turned back to look at the others, his voice carried out for a while. Isabella bowed her head, ashamed to reveal the tears. She slowly turned away to retreat from the disaster. But she only made a few feet before she collapsed and surrendered to the moment.
Wolf shot a distasteful look, and continued his descend.
